The culminating Cambridge Checkpoint Examination is the exit assessment offered to our students in Grade 8 upon the completion of the third year. My approach to reading the selection was trying to read and retain as much information as possible, but within a short amount of time. The K12 Language Arts Literature and Comprehension program consists of 24 units with reading Reading and comprehension checkpoint from the Classics anthology, nonfiction magazines, trade books, and other books students choose for themselves.

Each unit contains five lessons. K12 Vocabulary exposes students to a wide variety of words. The Scientific enquiry objectives underpin Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which are focused on developing confidence and interest in scientific knowledge.

The first five content areas are all underpinned by Problem solving, which provides a structure for the application of mathematical skills. Mental strategies are also a key part of the Number content. Students will learn, review, and practice words online. The learning objectives span knowledge and understanding and other qualities. Grammar and punctuation is further divided into Reading and Writing to reflect the different ways in which grammar and punctuation are applied in each of these skills.

This curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject. The Cambridge Secondary 1 Science is presented in four content areas: Students will acquire the critical skills and knowledge required for reading and literacy.

These are short, interactive stories that consist entirely of words students are able to read. The fifth lesson in each unit begins with online review and practice activities that reinforce skills learned in the unit, and is followed by an offline unit assessment.

Course Overview In this course, students receive structured lessons on readiness skills through emphasis on phonics, language skills, literature, and handwriting to help develop comprehension, build vocabulary, and promote a lifelong interest in reading. In even-numbered composition units, students will also learn techniques for planning, organizing, and creating different kinds of writing. There is an online review in Lesson 4 and an offline assessment in Lesson 5. In Semester 2, students will practice handwriting on their own using the supplied lined paper. Lesson 9 of each unit is a review of all the words. The 10th lesson is always a Unit Checkpoint, testing students on all the words they studied.
